TOPIC 3 : MY WEEKEND
I'm not going to talk about the whole weekend! I'm only going to say what I did Thursday night! This was something I wanted to post for a while but I didn't get to it due to the fact that I didn't upload all the videos till today!

Thursday night I was supposed to meet a Yemeni co-worker and go to a concert at the Dancing Water Fountain Park (7adeeqat Anafoora Araqi9a) to watch a few Yemeni singers sing to celebrate the Yemeni independence day! My co-worker cancelled on me so I ended up going alone! When I got there I saw that the guy selling the ticket was asking people if they were Yemeni or not! I was confused cause I didn't know it was the Yemeni independence day event till I finally sat down! I had to pay to get in while Yemeni citizens went in for free! I was actually happy to see that such things happen in Kuwait! I'm not going to say anything other than the event started at 8 PM and ended at about midnight or so! LOTS OF FUN!

Topic 2 : Work
For the past 2 weeks I've been working at my job (private sector) and been helping out with the ongoing Islamic Bank meetings! When I was approached by the top manager here at work, I was told that I was going to "work" for the government and to myself I was thinking, "Hey! Extra income!" I agrees to work for them and a month later I was told to go to a meeting! When I went to the meeting the reps there asked where I was the past month since they were waiting for me! I informed them that I wasn't told to see them till that day!

During that meeting I was informed that I will be acting as the Minister of Finance and that I will be greeting and escorting another Minister of Finance for another country! I was extremely happy when I was told that and it put a huge smile on my face! One thing I was a tad pissed about was the fact that they told me that they enjoyed working with volunteers! Especially local volunteers who like to work hard! Why did that piss me off? Well, the manager at work said it was a job and made it a must that I had to go with a co-worker! I did laugh though cause my co-worker isn't a hard worker at all and he was one of the "volunteers"! Either way, I liked the fact regarding what I was supposed to do and went with the flow!

I do my research and get prepared, then I find out that, apparently, the Minister cancels and so they appoint me to someone else! The next day, I'm doing more research and after my regular job I went to the hotel to meet up with the managers at the governmental job and long and behold they inform me that they made a mistake and they gave me the wrong country! I spend 2 hours trying to find info on the new Minister I have been appointed to and was successful!

I went to the barber shop, then went home! I showered, changed and left to go to the hotel where I was going to meet the chauffeur who will drive me to the airport! I call the chauffeur to tell hi that I am ready to be picked up and it took him 45 minutes to get to me! I call him after 30 minutes go by and he finally informs me that the cop won't let him in through the gates! I told him to park in front of the cop and walk over to me to pick up the required sticker which his dumb self was supposed to pick up earlier that morning! The cop tried to stop the guy from walking to me but the driver came anyways took the sticker and drove in! I could see that the cop was mad since the chauffeur listened to me and totally ignored him!

The chauffeur was from Somalia and lived in Kuwait for 14 years! I told him we need to go to the VIP section of the airport and he says ok! Guess what? He doesn't know where to go! :oP He was taking me to the regular airport and so I had to direct him! He sees the sign to the VVIP lounge (where the private planes arrive) which is the wrong one! So we go to the VIP lounge and I wait for the Minister to come out! I met with the Minister, sat down, talked to him and then took him to the hotel after they put his bag into the car! The chauffeur didn't know how to get back onto the highway! :oP

On the way there the Minister and I had a small talk regarding the meeting and I was supposed to ask him about whether or not he was going to sign 2 agreements! Apparently he doesn't have a clue as to what those agreements were all about! The he tells me that the last place he visited in the Middle East was Dubai and asked if Kuwait was the same! He had no clue about Kuwait and didn't even know the fact that parliament was dissolved! When I informed him of that he bombarded me with questions and I gladly answered! I excused myself to make a phone call to inform the reception that I was going to arrive shortly!

After arriving, we were treated like ordinary people without any special treatment! Why? The Minister I was appointed to was wearing black jeans and a black polo shirt that was tucked into the pants! I finally got him the attention he needed and got him checked in to his room. The guy was pretty tired so I took the liberty to check him in and help him out a little! Too bad the bank was closed so he couldn't get his per diem cheaque cashed!

Our Minister, the person I greeted and supposed to escort, has a minor issue regarding the trip after the meeting! He leaves Kuwait to go to Italy but his Shengen Visa is not valid until the day after he arrives to Italy! He wanted help to see if the Ministry would help him get his visa arrangements so that he can enter Italy on the day he arrives and not have to spend a day in the airport until he can leave! Being in Kuwait and knowing most of the people here, the Ministry decided against helping him! Oh well!

I had nothing to eat all day so when I got home after waking up at 6AM and working all day till I got home at 9:30PM I fianlly got something to eat at 10PM before going to bed! I was starving!

TOPIC 1 : Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim (Bo Ali)
I know I haven't been posting anything but that's just due to being over worked by both the private sector and the government! I do have to admit some laziness, but I do need some relax time when working for those two! :oP

I have so many things I want to write about but I will refrain from writing them all in one post and I will actually spread them out into 3 separate posts!

TOPIC 1 : Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim (Bo Ali)

Everyone knows that elections are here and people are running around trying to get things done! Due to the fact that a person cannot do anything by himself/herself, the work is delegated to specific committees! The issue I would like to talk about and shed some light on regards the photograph below and all the misunderstanding, confusion, anger behind it!

The committee in charge of the campaign's information distribution and advertising (lajnat al-i3lam) had the company who printed the posters that are placed in the neighborhood which Mr. Al-Ghanim is running for and the actual engineer decided to use the pic that people say was fake and made up! Mr. Al-Ghanim has many pictures of this photograph, some of which are actual photographs and some that are painted! The engineer from the printing firm decided to go for the clearest picture that he got his hands on, which was the picture that everyone is mad about! The reason for the engineer selecting that pic was because it was a picture that was painted in color and the clearest one from the selection! The painting was given to the Al-Ghanim family as is, without Mr. Al-Khaled and it was not altered by the Al-Ghanim family or by Marzooq!

Mr. Al-Ghanim was extremely upset about what happened and he talked to the Al-Khalid family regarding this mishap and apologized! The Al-Khalid family said that it was ok and that he shouldn't worry! They also told him that he can keep the posters up! He refused and apparently he's in the process of changing them!

I hope this explanation of what happened fulfills everyone's curiosity and releases everyone from their anger! The whole thing was just a flaw in the process!

More Quizzes!
You Are 92% Open Minded

You are so open minded that your brain may have fallen out!
Well, not really. But you may be confused on where you stand.
You don't have a judgemental bone in your body, and you're very accepting.
You enjoy the best of every life philosophy, even if you sometimes contradict yourself.

Your Job Dissatisfaction Level is 42%

Well, you don't have the worst job in the world, but it's not great.
And don't worry, you're not the problem - your company is.
Start looking around for another job, even if you're not totally fed up.
Because in time, you're going to be dying to quit!

You Are 30% Boyish and 70% Girlish

Even if you're not a girl, you're very feminine.
You're in touch with your feelings, and your heart rules you.
A bit of a emotional roller coaster, one moment you're up and the next you're down.
But no matter what, you try to be as cute and perky as possible.

I agree with the Open minded Quiz but I have to admit that I can get judgmental!

As for the Job Quiz, the company is not that issue, it's the management (the Dept. Head) and my one co-worker! Oh not to mention the wage! I don't think I will quit though!

No comment regarding the last quiz cause to be honest I think it's true! :oP

Quizes

Your Seduction Style: Ideal Lover

You seduce people by tapping into their dreams and desires.

And because of this sensitivity, you can be the ideal lover for anyone you seek.

You are a shapeshifter - bringing romance, adventure, spirituality to relationships.

It all depends on who your with, and what their vision of a perfect relationship is.

Your Seduction Style: Fantasy Lover

You know that ideal love that each of us dreams of from childhood? That's you!
Not because you posess all of the ideal characteristics, but because you are a savvy shape shifter.
You have the uncanny ability to detect someone's particular fantasy... and make it you.

You inspire each person to be an idealist and passionate, and you make each moment memorable
Even a simple coffee date with you can be the most romantic moment of someone's life
By giving your date exactly what he or she desires, you quickly become the ideal lover.

Your abilities to make dreams come true is so strong, that you are often the love of many people's lives.
Your ex's (and even people you have simply met or been friends with) long to be yours.
No doubt you are the one others have dreamed of... your biggest challenge is finding *your* dream lover.

Your Love Life Secrets Are

Looking back on your life, you will have a few true loves.

You're a little scarred from your past relationships, but who isn't?

You expect a lot from your lover - you want the full package. You tend to be very picky.

In fights, you love to debate and defend yourself. You logic prevails - or at least you'd like to think so.

Getting over a break-up doesn't take long. Easy come, easy go.

I have nothing to say about the first two quizes but as for the last quiz, I do not agree with the last statement which says, "Getting over a break-up doesn't take long. Easy come, easy go." Takes me a lot of time to get out of a relationship I really care or cared about!

When The People Spoke
Last night I met up with Nibaq and JC to see the screening of Amer Al-Zuhair AKA BuNaz's documentary titled, "When The People Spoke!" The video was very compelling and spoke the truth. I, for one, would like to see this video be sold in the Kuwaiti market but some of you might not know that this video was labeled as harmful to the community by the ministry and so it will not be sold!

The objective of these screenings is to get the people's point of view as well as to see if this video should be kept off the market or if it should be sold!

In my point of view, I think it should be sold in the Kuwaiti market! I'm tired of people living a lie! I don't like the fact that schools are not teaching actual history and that the history they are teaching is flawed and made up to look good! This video was raw, amazing, and truthful and I stand by it 110%.

Thank you Mr. Amer Al-Zuhair for all your hard work and dedication! I, a Kuwaiti citizen, salute you! We need more people like you in our community!

Powerful SMS Msg
Last night I got the following msg and I thought it was true!

TRANSLATION

Eternal Historic Moments

1956 Jassim Al-Qatami submitted his resignation to the Director of Public Security, when he was the Deputy Director of Public Security, after he was asked to stop people from protesting. After submitting his resignation he joined the people and participated in the demonstrations

2006 Jassim Al-Kharafi, Chairman of the National Council, ordered the Ministry of Interior and special forces to be stationed within the Nation Council to stop people from telling the truth

What a difference between the two Jassims

Oh, "the people" of Kuwait join us in the reform movement and the fight against those who are corrupt

More Nastiness!
I posted pics of SUVs that have been altered and customized in a horrible manner, and this isn't too different! This is a video of an old school SL that has been modified to kinda look like the SLR! Lets just say that it's a horrible attempt and it's a good thing I found this car at the Junk Yards of Kuwait! I think it's a good place for it!

My Orange Theory
Some of you out there have already know about the theory I have regarding the color of the Orange movement! I said I was going to blog about it and there is no better time than this! Why you ask? Well after reading the following piece in Al-Watan Paper I just had to talk about my theory.

The theory Mr. Fouad Al-Hashim had was that the orange color was the idea of PM member Ahmed Al-Sa3doon, since he used to be the president of Kathma Sports Club who have orange uniforms.

My theory is that whoever decided to start this movement was either playing pool at the time or is a very good pool player! Why? well haven't you noticed that the number 5 ball on a pool table is orange? Here are a few pics for you guys to see!

Toastmasters

Just to change the subject a little, last night Purg and I went to one of the local Toastmaster meet ups after being invited by the one and only Jacqui! When we got there we found Missundaztoood and Fractal00! I was also happy to see Your Battlefield for the first time!

I met a lot of courageous people who are not afraid of doing something that will make them become great role models and good Ambassadors for the Kuwaiti society!

The meeting had a President, which was non other than our
Swair! She did a great job organizing everything and I don't care if she started a minute late! :oP

I watched people stand up on stage and make up a short piece around a specific word and they were evaluated on it! Looking at the people made me very proud of them and when they asked for a guest to stand up and have a go at what's being done I, to be totally honest, reluctantly got up and participated! I had to use the word "cheap" as many times as I could in a 2 minute time frame in front of a room full of strangers! I was extremely nervous and I had the shakes but I did manage to say the small piece I made up on the spot trying to incorporate the word "cheap" as much as possible! That was a tad challenging but lots of fun!

I would like to take this time to thank every member of the Toastmaster club and wish them all the best! I'm actually thinking of joining the club myself! There's nothing wrong with a little improvement! ;o)
